| 7200.0xx - Watersensitive papers |
The watersensitive papers are a very simple means of checking the type of cover obtained using this treatment. Strips are yellow and turn blue upon contact with water.
These papers need to be positioned on the crops using pegs of bright colours, if possible, which are to be evenly distributed. They are collected as soon as they are dry.
Should they be too dark, it means that they have been excessively coated (with resulting risk of dripping); while if they are too light it means that the coating has been insufficient.

| There are different possible coverage conditions: |
| good |
acceptable but with the
presence of large droplets |
dissimilar |
excessive |
totally excessive and
with washing |
|
The minimum coverage must be approximately 20% and blue papers (totally wet) should be avoided.
Obviously such conditions are not possible on all the papers positioned on the foliage of a tree, but at least 70% should come within the optimum conditions.
In estimating the droplet size it will be necessary to take into account that the paper makes the droplet expand by 2.5 times and therefore the imprint is 2.5 times greater to the droplet dimension that ends up on the vegetation. |
